Katie and Riley’s Sunset Monalisa Wedding Weekend of Fine Food & Fun Times

American couple Katie and Riley have been through a lot as a couple. Both faced trials early during their relationship and were able to overcome them with each other’s support, emerging stronger and more in love than ever.

Despite pandemic delays, the couple finally said their vows in front of their family and friends at the Panorama Terrace of the Sunset Monalisa in Cabo.

Fun, Fantastic Food and a Beachy Flair

The theme for the wedding itself was simple: fun and beachy. Being Irish, Riley wanted a fun filled wedding full of laughter, fine spirits and meaningful music that honored Riley’s Irish heritage.

For them, the atmosphere was very important. They wanted to keep the vibe clean and classy but to enjoy a bit of the sophisticated beachy flair that Cabo is known for. The Sunset Monalisa wedding venue overlooks the beach, creating the ideal seaside surroundings the couple was hoping for.

Katie had this vision of tropical but elegant which is why we focused on deep blue as the base color, reflecting the azure waves of the beach. Enhanced with bright oranges, pinks and greenery, such as birds of paradise, the tropical vibe exuded every detail. We used neutral furniture combined with either bold blue napkins in some tables or blue velvet tablecloths in others. It was dramatic but it had a fun vibe when we added the bright colored flowers.

Guests had fun enjoying the relaxed atmosphere and celebrating the couple all through the evening, toasting the newlyweds when the skies turned orange and pink along the horizon.

A Private Affair

The fun and laid back atmosphere was very important to the couple. Both of them weathered a lot of storms but it is also thanks to these hardships that they are now a solid couple. What better way to celebrate overcoming trials by having a beachside party full of your loved ones.

Sunset Monalisa is one of the best choices for couples who want privacy on their special day. The resort has a “one couple a day” policy which means that they will only cater to your wedding not only for full privacy but for the undivided attention you deserve.

The couple and their guests enjoyed great food and plenty of libations to honor the groom’s irish heritage which the hotel happily provided. Adan Mijares was in charge of the night’s entertainment as DJ and guitarist while Vivid Occasions Cabo wedding planners designed, coordinated and executed the event.

There is a saying that goes “the goal is to laugh forever with someone you take serious”. Katie and Riley starting their forever with fun and laughter bodes well especially when you’re clinking champagne glasses on the tip of the Baja Peninsula with the love of your life.
